Today my friend asks me that she wants her backup which is stored in my iTunes year ago.since it was good question that how can I transfer back from my Mac to her Mac, I started fiddling and browsing around the internet and eventually I found in Library/ApplicationSupport/MobileSync/Backup.
Step 1
Goto Finder's Go Menu and click Go To Folder.. or press shift+Commad+G and you will find the search box as below.
Type ~/Library in Search box to goto Library folder stored in user's account.Press Go to open the folder which should display its sub folders. Find the folder called ApplicationSupport. In this folder goto MobileSync folder and guess what here you will find the Backup Folder. However what if you have so many backups stored in this folder like I had.Though, the sub folders do not have same names as your backups. it has some numbers or probably hash codes written.
Info.plist
Now, to find my friend's back up file I opened each of those weird numbered folder and opened the file called info.plist, Which has following property including Device Name similar to iTunes device name. However that folder was 2.9GB in size so the next question is how to transfer that. well, that is fairly easy since we both are using Mac. Solution is Airdrop. I dropped that large size folder to Airdrop and she received that folder, copied in her Library/ApplicationSupport/MobileSync/Backup folder. which is available in her iTunes/Preferences/Devices.All done!
